To keep up with the digital marketing trends and to establish its online presence, the Diffun Saranay and Development Cooperative (DISADECO) launches its website and web store. Both sites will go live for pilot testing by the cooperative’s Board of Directors, project partners, and staff on May 18, 2021; and will be officially accessible to the public on May 24, 2021.
DISADECO finds it practical and convenient to reach out to its members through the online media especially that majority now, if not all, owns smart phones, tablets, and other mobile devices. Concurrent with the heightened restrictions on human mobility being imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic is the consumers’ inclination to purchase via the Internet because of convenience, cost, and speed.
“Through our website, we can make membership and services easily accessible to our members and would-be members. We wish to expand our membership through our web presence,” said Ms. Marcy D. Foryasen, chairperson of the Board of Directors.
The goal with this website and webstore is to provide the visitors an easier way to learn about DISADECO’s services, to look for information that they need, and to avail of the cooperative7s products the most convenient way possible. The website gives better access to the cooperative’s savings program, lending services, social programs, agricultural, and non-agricultural services, as well as important announcements and events. The web store enables patrons to get DISADECO products delivered to their doorsteps.
The e-commerce website creation is a joint project of DISADECO and the CESO (Canadian Executive Service Organization)-SACO that started on February 15, 2021. The CESO-SACO is a not-for-profit organization whose advisors volunteer to help empower institutions and cooperatives, among others, to drive economic development. The CESO-SACO extended its technical expertise to DISADECO by giving relevant training and consultancy on website development and management.
