The two-year pandemic has brought miseries and extreme difficulties to many families especially those engaged in agriculture. These hardships are exacerbated recently by the onslaught of Typhoon Maring leaving farmers and fisherfolks with limited ways to recover their losses.
In response to this, the Diffun Saranay and Development Cooperative (DISADECO) launched the Agri-Negosyo (ANYO) Loan Program. The ANYO Loan Program, made in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA), is aimed at financing those who venture into the agriculture and fishery-based micro and small enterprises. Through the program, farmers and fisherfolks registered in the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) are now able to avail of a Three Hundred Thousand Pesos (P300,000) interest-free loan to rebuild their farms along with the procurement of machinery and equipment for their agri-business.
The program also encourages young entrepreneurs to engage in agriculture as a profession. It offers different training programs to help those who are interested in starting their own agri-business now that jobs are hard to find.
The ANYO loan is payable in five years. It carries a minimal service fee of three-and-a-half percent (3.5%). Since the start of its implementation, there have already been sixty-six (66) members who availed of the loan.
