Today, October 10, 2023, DISADECO celebrates cooperative month through a Thanksgiving mass and dedication of the DISADECO hotel, restaurant, resort and events center. Ten years ago, the cooperative was awarded as a national gawad parangal awardee under the medium type category. In the cooperative month last year, it received its recognition as the first billionaire cooperative in the province of Quirino.

DISADECO opens Satellite Offices in Quirino Province and Nueva Vizcaya
The said satellite offices officially opened today, Feb 21, 2022 (Mon) with the traditional cutting of ribbon and the candle lighting ceremony. The program is attended by Ms. Marciana D. The construction of DISADECO-Angadanan’s multi-services center kicks off on Saturday, November 20, 2021 in simple groundbreaking rites. The center will soon have an administration building, a farmers’ center, a mini-mart and a gas station.

Coffee Post-Harvest Handling and Processing Phase II Training Course @ DISADECO Training Center successfully held
On November 4-6, 2021, DISADECO, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and Department of Trade Industry (DTI) successfully held a three-day training course on Coffee Post-Harvest Handling and Processing Phase II at DISADECO TRAINING CENTER and DISADECO Coffee Processing Facility.

RCEF Fertilizer Distribution in Angadanan Reaches Halfway Mark
About half the number of bags of fertilizers has already been distributed to qualified members of DISADECO-Angadanan Branch to date. Of the 3,800 bags allotted to DISADECO-Angadanan, 1,914 bags have been distributed to farmer-beneficiaries.

The two-year pandemic has brought miseries and extreme difficulties to many families especially those engaged in agriculture. These hardships are exacerbated recently by the onslaught of Typhoon Maring leaving farmers and fisherfolks with limited ways to recover their losses.

DISADECO lowers interest rates anew
Since the start of the year 2021, DISADECO cut back its interest rates on loans by a third from the existing 18 percent per annum to 12 percent diminishing. This is to continue to support the members affected by the coronavirus pandemic. This is the second time that the cooperative cut back its interest on loans. The first time was from 24 percent per annum to 18 percent.

DISADECO wins in Productivity Olympics
The Diffun Saranay and Development Cooperative (DISADECO) is a regional winner of the 2021 Productivity Olympics, small category, by the National Wages and Productivity Commission on August 17, 2021. DISADECO is one of nine awardees from Region 2 which are endorsed for national level competition. The others are as follows: Healthy Foods and Gifts Enterprises, Masisit Dacal Livelihood Cooperative, My Aims Kitchen, Abana Computer Services and General Merchandize, Cagayan Appliance Center, Cooperative Bank of Nueva Vizcaya, Providers Multipurpose Cooperative and Cagayan 2 Electric Cooperative, Inc.

Amid the pandemic DISADECO opens new services
The Diffun Saranay and Development Cooperative (DISADECO) will venture into two new services this third quarter of 2021. These services are the funeral home and the gasoline station with mini-mart. The funeral home and chapel will be a three-storey building to be erected at Aurora West, Diffun, Quirino. The services to be offered by this facility include the transport and embalming of cadaver, sale of coffins, rental of chapel for wake ceremonies and other related services.

DISADECO Employees Bond Over Breakfast
The employees of the Diffun Saranay and Development Cooperative (DISADECO) – Diffun visited the cooperative’s farm in Sto. Tomas, Saguday, Quirino on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Employees went to the farm at break of day to cut down weeds around the paddy field. The 36,000 square meters-wide farm was planted with palay, banana, and kamote. It is the employees who planted banana and kamote during their previous farm visits. The management finds the activity helpful for the employees to bond together and take a quick break from their work.

OUR STORY

The Diffun Saranay and Development Cooperative (DISADECO) was born on July 2, 1988 when 51 poor rice farmers met under the shade of a mango tree in Diffun, Quirino to discuss ways and means to improve their lot. Resultantly, the group decided to organize a cooperative for bringing services nearer to its members. Since, DISADECO and its many branches have developed several recognized products and offer services to its members. Despite its humble beginnings, DISADECO now stands with pride along with its committed officers, staff and members whose dream for a better life joined the cooperative movement.
